My experience in a month at Jakarta, Indonesia.

Hello my name is Kamonkan Kingsayyood.
My nickname is Kongfang.
I'm studying at Lampang Rajabhat University, Thailand.

First week in Jakarta, Indonesia.

I tried to eat every Indonesian foods. Some kinds of food are yummy but something is not well taste for me.

 Sate is look like Sate in Thai but a little difference taste.

Thai food in Indonesia. There are Tom yam kung, Tom kha kai, and Som tum.

I went to school at SD Muhammadiyah 08 plus Jakarta.

School Profile



School academic and development plan
Vision : to be a Champion school
Mission: to result a Champion teacher and Champion student
Goal: to establish a Moslem Personal who is honest, superior, trustworthy, religious and active (JUARA).

Academic supporting system
  • every classes is equpped by speaker, projector and AC.
  • every students is provided with 3 consulting/ controlling books. There are;
1. Iqro book (recording the students progress on reading the Holy Quran),
2. prayer book  (recording the students progress on 5 times of prayer),
3. Task/ consulting book (reminding the students of task/ exam schedule, communicating/ informing about the students extraordinary event, inviting parents to come to school)
  • everyday program for the students and teacher to read the Holy Quran and morning prayer       (Dhuha prayer) once in a week.
  • involving the school committee to obtain input and support for the school programs providing after-school extracurricular to support the students skill/ hobby. These extracurricular are :
1. Marching band (mandatory)
2. Hizbul Wathon/ Muhammadiyah scouting (mandatory)
3. Excellent club (mandatory)
4. Painting club (optional)
5. Robotic club (optional)
6. Math club (optional)
7. Dance club (optional)
8. Science club (optional)
9. Music club (optional)
10. Futsal club (optional)
11. Tapak suci club/ martial arts (optional)

  • providing healthy checked once in a week cooperates with the  Islamic Hospital in Pondok Kopi area near the school.
  • the school cooperates with Excellent course from Kampung Inggris in Pare, east Java. The excellent mentor teaches english to all classes everyday. the major focus is to train the student to use English spontaneously not only at school but also in their everyday life. The goal is for supporting the school in achieving bilingual school 3-5 years ahead.
  • every class is provided with absence book and jurnal of daily teaching. Every  teacher should fill the jurnal with the ongoing material and get informed about the student who is absence.
  • every teacher is given an agenda to record the teaching schedule. This agenda is as teacher       personal record/ reminder of which material that the student has accomplished and which hasn’t, also the student who needs help/ assistance.
Structure of hour subject
Grade 1 - 2 learning hour lasts for 06.30 a.m. - 01.30 p.m.
The subject is 5 - 6 subjects per day.
Grade 3 - 6 learning hour lasts for 06.30 a.m. - 02.30 p.m.
The subject is 6 - 7 subjects per day.
Every subject is for 30 minutes - 1 hour.


Teaching System

  • The teaching process are balanced between 3 domains of affective, cognition and psychomotor. The teaching is expected to produce students who master the Faith and Devotion to God (IMTAQ) and Science and Technology.
  • there is additional lesson for students who have missed the class or have skill under average.
  • there is also grouping student to ease handling them. This is usually implemented in grade 1 and 2.
  • consultation on students achievement with parents on Parents-Teacher Meeting is held every 3 months which is recorded in Report book.
  • the teacher is given jou.

Material and Other Learning Sources          T

       The student is provided with textbook and notebook. The students also can work at home with the CD player which is included inside the studentbook. While the teacher has a guideline book and multimedia softfile in Pdf and powerpoint format in helping to create a supporting learning environment. The students also may borrow books from the library to support the material of the subject teaching.

Measurement and Evaluation System
       The student has monthly exam on every subject, the minimum exam is 1 time per semester. Every 3 months the student will have mid-test term and every 6 months they’ll have final-test term. The student will have the statement of the their progress on the Report book.

Curriculum
      The curriculum used in SD Muhammadiyah 08 Jakarta is School-Based Curriculum (KTSP). There are 3 components covered in KTSP:
1. Objectives of education institution.
2. The structure and content of KTSP.
3. Academic calendar.


      English subject as stated in Standard of content is learned at Elementary School 2 credits (1 hour) in a week named as local content / MULOK.

There is also Muhammadiyah curriculum which consists of 7 types of subjects:

1. Al-Islam
2. Al-Quran
3. Keimanan/ Faith
4. Ibadah/ Worship
5. Tarekh/ History of Islam
6. Arabic languange
7. Kemuhammadiyahan / KMD

The teacher of these subjects is selected by Muhammadiyah Association

My Duties in SD Muhamadiyah 08 plus school


I observed teaching in primary school for 1 week.
The students are very nice and intelligent.
They always ask me about Thailand.
I taught them  about Thai language and they also taught me how to say Bahasa.

My Life in Jarkrta

I stayed with host. She very nice. She always took me to travel and prepared all of meal. 
She has 2 kids. There are Zafinza and Zafa. They are very cute. Actually her English not well but we can communicate and sometimes we used Google Translate for communicate.













Third week in Jakarta, Indonesia.   

01/02/2018-09/02/2018  

 
I taught grade 4th, 5th, and 6th.
It was hard to make English lesson plan.
And I try to do it. Some problems I asked English teachers and they could help me.
The main point is if you have any problems just tell teachers in school. They can suggest the right way to you.
About my teaching, It was hard at first class but the next class was better. Because I could improve my teaching skill and prepare better than the first class; after suggestion from my mentor.









 

And the last week in Jakarta, Indonesia.

It's easy to say hello but it's hard to say goodbye.
Some students cried and hug me.
Some students gave little letter to me.
Some students gave present to me.
we were cry and took picture together.
















I can get a lot of new experiences and many good friends.
I'm very glad to join with Sea Teacher bath 5 project.
